What I Think Kia Tika Means

In huia  today we are writing about Kia Tika also known as as respect. There are five values in kaingaroa  there is Kia Mahara (Responsibility) , Kia Ngāwari (kindness) , Kia Pono (Equity) , Kia Manawanui (Resilience). But today where talking about Kia Tika.

Kia Tika to me is like for example taking you hat off when your inside, not stealing , listening to the speaker and a lot more. There also is being the man or woman when it comes to a argument. Another thing is using manners like please, thankyou, your welcome and excuse me and a lot more. There is also keeping your voice down in a time when you are supposed to like at night or like if you have the tv runing at night keep the volume down.

Thats what i think Kia Tika  means

  1. Tēnā koe Henry. I can see that you have organised your ideas about kia tika into two paragraphs, well done. I'm really interested to know what you mean by 'being the man or woman during an argument'. What might this look like? Have you been part of an argument where you've had to be the man? What happened? Have you witness a disagreement between different people? How did they show/not show kia tika?

When I say being the man or woman of the argument
I mean like be the one that walks away and makes it so the disagreement ends. But if they follow you you just need to tell on them. (adult vurshin) But if you can't then tell them to leave you alone or you will call the cops and then show them your phone.

yes i have been the man a couple times sometimes it is hard to be the man when you are angry. But when you are the man or woman you fell good like you stop a a giant bomb from blowing up the earth.
what happen you ask well there was this one time where my bother was made like steaming hot mad face red mad wait thats every time well he had a knife and he was angry at me so I ran into a room and shut the door and held it shut he was trying to stab me thru the bottem and then i ran to teh shed.
